ASHWAGANDHA SEED:-Ashwagandha is an evergreen shrub that grows in India, the Middle East and parts of Africa with a height of 3-4 feet.The herb is also called Indian ginseng or winter cherry.
Uses: It Improves diabetes, high cholesterol, and male infertility.
Cultivation: Ashwagandha is a late rainy season crop with a temperature between 20◦C to 35◦C. The plant grows well in sandy loam, about 2 kg of seeds is being sown in the nursery just before the onset of rainy season and are covered with light soil and they germinate in 6-7 days after sowing. When the seedlings are of 6 weeks old they are being transplanted with a spacing of 9-10 inches.Ashwagandha crop is propagated through seeds, crop does not tolerate excessive irrigation. Harvesting starts after 6 months of planting the seed with an approximate yield of 700 kg roots and 50kg seeds.Ashwagandha has a good market demand because of its benefits.
