CUSTARD APPLE PLANT:-Custard apple (Annona squamosa L.) is a tropical fruit and is known as Sitaphal in India. It is grown throughout India except temperate regions and is native to South America. The size of the fruit ranges from 7-12cm depending on the cultivar. The flavour of the fruit is sweet and pleasant.
USES: Used to make Ice Creams, custard powder, shakes, smoothies and deserts.
CULTIVATION: Custard apple flourishes best in the dry and hot climate. The planting is done at a spacing of 10x10ft. (Approx.) 440 plants required for one ha. Custard Apple is usually harvested from February to early November. The yield of around 7kg is expected in the first production thereby the yield of fruit increases in every production.
